How Do You Write Blog Posts?

If you’ve ever considered writing a blog or creating several blogposts, but felt intimidated by the advanced technology and the massive competition out there, you should reconsider your fears.Writing

If this is the first time you’ve landed on my website, you might think I’ve been blogging for months, but the truth is, this website itself isn’t older than a month and a few days (as of 10th July 2015).

A lot of times I hear people admiring other peoples blogs and instagram accounts. They usually wonder how they received so many followers and quickly believe that they could never achieve the same.

Well, today I want to tell you that this isn’t true and you can easily obtain the same by following a few simple steps.

The Beauty Of Blogging

The true power of blogging is that you can virtually write about anything and have people enjoy your content. Whatever your interests might be, you can now put them into words and store them online, for other similarly minded people to read them.

Here are some of the steps you might want to take when starting out a blog:

  1. Find a topic to blog about and stick to it
  2. Think about what you want to write and plan it out
  3. Try making your content readable (use images, short paragraphs etc.)
  4. Be personal and don’t try to use complicated language
  5. Do a bit of research on similar topics (read articles that you could quote and research keywords)
  6. Share your content with friends and social media to generate a greater audience

Make sure to Keep a checklist

If you follow these simple 6 steps, your blog will naturally increase in size, by viewers and by content.

Where Do I Blog My Articles?

Usually you should consider buying a hosting platform where you can purchase and host your domain. But there are other options that are completely free, which also teach you how to create websites/ blogs, in a step by step manner.

Once you obtain your domain, there’s not much more to know. Especially with WordPress you will find it very easy to simply type out your content and add images or videos. It has a very ‘Microsoft Word-like’ attitude to it.

Another important factor to point out, is that you should be consistent with your posts. Once you generate an audience, you will most likely find a lot of subscribers waiting for your newest updates or articles.

If you become lazy and start slacking in your performance, you can quickly lose followers.

Writers Block…

If at some point you face yourself with a writers block or a burn out, try to give yourself a break. There are a few things you could do to get rid of your burden.

  • Go back to old content and review it
  • Try picking out ideas and go into detail from older posts
  • Set up Google Alerts to notify you with relevant news
  • Take notes on your phone or a notepad whenever you come up with fresh ideas

desperateThere are obviously many other ways to stay relevant in your topic and niche, so don’t panic when you hit a burnout or get stressed.

If you have any more questions about how to start a blog or what tools you need to start a blog, please don’t hesitate to contact me. I’ll make sure to answer you with detailed response.

So have you ever thought about blogging or are you already a consistent blogger with huge followers?

  1. HI, I enjoyed the article. We are all getting ideas on how to wrtie blogs. It is hard sometimes. For me the hardest part is making it personable. I like information and the trick for me is making it sociable. It takes practice. Best of luck cawells

    • Hey Cawells,

Happy you enjoyed it. Why don’t you try to stop focusing on being personal and just type out the information the way you would explain it to someone face to face. This way your personality comes across naturally 🙂
That’s what I try to do at least.

      Hope I could help 😉

  2. Blogging helps drive traffic to your website, helps convert traffic into leads, helps establish authority and drives long term results. What keyword research strategy do you suggest to optimize the blog articles?

    • Hey Keye,

It definitely helps all of your mentioned points. As for the keyword research strategy, I suggest to use the keyword tool I wrote about here: http://mypathtopassiveincome.com/keyword-tool

I included certain points to look for when doing your research. If you would like more help please feel free to contact me at any point.

  3. Dear Esteban,

Another great Blog Post you have written here. 🙂 I can easily relate to this. I have run into Writers Block recently now. I seen to have become fresh out of ideas on what I want to write next for further topics within my niche. It is as though I am stuck, and due to this I have lost a lack of confidence in myself as I have to go back and review my older posts and make them more longer as they are really short and not specific enough to answer all the doubts the reader may have on the content. I need to add more emphasis.

But, the most stress for me comes from if I missed mentioning a crucial step in a How To type of tutorial Post on a particular topic like Indexing Website Page/Post into Google faster and easier. I forget to realize sometimes I need to take a break and meet my audience where they are and not assume they think the same way I do with understanding how I went through the process in my Posts. I need to learn to relax more and not think it the end of the world if I have not written in awhile.

Time to get back up again and brush the dust off, start afresh with writing down notes or ideas that come my way in the most randomest of moments.

Thanks again for this Blog Post,

    ~Angel

    • Hey Angel,

      Happy you found this useful.

I don’t think you should be to harsh on yourself. Maybe instead of writing out your content longer, you could try adding a new post on a specific piece you want to go into more detail from a previous post.
You could then go into much greater detail on just that bit, and interlink both posts in case people want to read around the topic.

I do believe that going back to older posts is important. I think I’ve done it twice now and made major changes each time. I am even considering to do that on a weekly basis. Eventually it will take me several days to go through my entire content but it’ll be worth it in the long run.

I am glad I could help you through this post!
